Gary Kalk

Founder, President & CEO

Gary Kalk is President & CEO of Dealer-FX Group, Inc. and has more than 25 years’ experience in the automotive industry. He‘s held senior roles in retail marketing and operations, giving him an awareness of all aspects of a dealership’s workings, particularly fixed operations. His strong understanding of retail marketing systems & processes, as well as his early recognition of the importance of the customer experience, have positioned him as a leader in helping dealers drive customer retention & profitability. At the OEM level, Gary’s helped develop customer experience and retention programs for leading OEMs including Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA Group), Audi, Mazda, Lexus, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Acura, Suzuki, General Motors, Mitsubishi, and Subaru.

Bruce Hooey

Bruce Hooey

Chief Financial Officer

Bruce’s 17 years of C-Suite Executive experience are evidenced by his strength in championing, leading and/or delivering complex technology-based solutions across many industries.

His ability to connect strategic imperatives with detailed technical solutions, while understanding the human side of change-management, has been instrumental in the success of numerous major projects at DFX. Bruce started his career as a Management Consultant with Deloitte Consulting, followed by positions as CIO in the pharmaceutical and entertainment industries. On the back of his strong financial acumen, Bruce then made the transition to CFO at Universal Music. After playing a lead role in transforming the Toronto International Film Festival into a year-round year operation housed in a new $140m film complex, Bruce joined Dealer-FX as the COO. Bruce holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Schulich School of Management. As CFO, Bruce is responsible for all Operational and Financial aspects of Dealer-FX.

James Knight

James Knight

Executive VP, Sales & Business Development

With almost 25 years in the automotive industry, James brings a wealth of knowledge to the Dealer-FX team. He has held senior positions at Reynolds and Reynolds, ADP Dealer Services and The Higher Gear Group.

James currently oversees North American sales and focuses on strategic account management and new business development for Dealer-FX. He has extensive nation-wide experience deploying CRM solutions at Tier 1 levels with OEMs, large dealer groups and individual dealerships.

James has been a key customer advocate for the Gold-Support Training program, which has raised dealership profits, increased customer engagement on the drive and helped improve the customer’s overall experience in the service department.

Shaun Kobrin

Executive VP, Corporate Development & Strategy

As the Executive VP, Corporate Development and Strategy, Shaun brings over 20 years of experience in finance, operations, strategic growth and restructuring. At Dealer-FX Shaun’s prime responsibility is to help develop and implement processes and protocols needed to support scalable, profitable growth.

Prior to joining Dealer-FX, Shaun was the CEO of Homedics Group Canada Co. where he restructured a bankrupt entity and grew revenues in triple digits over 6 years. Shaun’s finance background spans over 9 years in the private equity field which included Managing Director roles at Hilco Consumer Capital, Dancap Private Equity and serving as an Investment Manager at Covington Capital. Shaun is a Chartered Accountant.

James Lawton

James Lawton

Chief Technology Officer

James is responsible for all product development, technical realization, IT and cloud infrastructure at Dealer-FX. James has over 20 years of executive experience in large global companies and software start-ups.

He has had significant success in driving complex projects involving multiple partner organizations with disparate technologies, from the initial concepts to the final delivery. James started his career in software with IBM. He left to found a software start-up, later sold to Siemens. There he focused on building a professional services practice, creating next generation SOA and enterprise application platforms, business development and creating wide-ranging strategic partnerships. He has an extensive background in Unified Communications and collaboration, SaaS, Cloud, IT, Marketing, Business Development, Professional Services, Contact Centers, Enterprise Software Integrations, Product Support and Product Development.

David Sturtz

David Sturtz

Chief Marketing Officer

David is responsible for marketing, strategy and thought leadership at Dealer-FX. David has more than 10 years of executive experience in the automotive technology sector, starting his tenure as the founder and CEO of RepairPal, the industry standard price and quality discovery application for automotive repair consumers.

He subsequently ran marketing and business development at Xtime, and did a short stint building a vehicle trade-in product at TrueCar. Prior to founding RepairPal, David worked as a research analyst for Prudential Securities and Credit Suisse First Boston, covering software and technology service companies. He holds a B.A in Economic Geography from the University of California, Berkeley and a M.S in Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University where he was also a doctoral candidate in Political Economics.

Craig Cook

For over 19 years, Craig has brought client-focused, results-oriented delivery expertise to every challenge. At Dealer-FX, Craig leads the implementation of our data intensive, mobile and highly integrated systems with overall responsibility for leadership and mentorship of teams, seamless integration and execution of products, client engagement, and strategic program oversight of our client’s portfolios.

Through his previous tenures at various digital agencies, eCRM shops, and software technology companies, he gained valuable experience across many categories including automotive, CPG, healthcare, hospitality, financial and technology. One notable, complex initiative was an end-to-end, multi-channel eCRM program that included data modeling, segmentation and personalization across a wide range of media and events. Craig has degrees in Multimedia from Sheridan College as well as e-Commerce and Graphic Design degrees from the Bell Center of Creative Communications.

Kris Tierney

VP, People & Culture

Kris’s approach as an executive leader is to achieve results by creating outstanding workplaces where people & culture are strategic priorities. Kris started her career in hospitality where she held various leadership and management positions.

From there, she developed her HR acumen in progressive HR and leadership positions at TD Bank Financial Group and TD Canada Trust, and as an independent Training Consultant. She honed her skills in leadership, strategy, and culture during her 10 years at Questrade, Inc., contributing to the organization’s growth from start-up to 4th largest online brokerage firm in Canada. Kris earned her Business Administration Diploma, Human Resources (with Distinction) from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario and the Human Resources Post Graduate Certificate from Humber College in Toronto. She has achieved the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designations from Canada’s HR Professional Association. Kris has also earned the Human Capital Strategist certificate from the Human Capital Institute, and an Associate’s Certificate in Project Management from McMaster University. Since joining Dealer-FX Group Inc. as VP, People & Culture, Kris has continued to provide vision and leadership in all areas of Dealer-FX’s people & culture programs and practices.

Laurent Villanueva

Laurent Villanueva

Executive VP, Client Services

Laurent is an MBA and an automotive engineer with a track record of solving B2B clients’ technological & operational challenges and integrating these learnings into holistic business strategies.

He is a leader in Change Management and Employee Motivation with consistent results across North America, Western Europe, Asia and Australia. Laurent started his career with Siemens VDO (now Continental Automotive) where he was quickly promoted from Project Engineer to Project Manager and then Business Manager. He then moved to Lafarge, where he led a sales organization of 50+ in Canada before being selected to lead the implementation of processes and CRM tools throughout the global organization. Within Dealer-FX, Laurent leads the training and installation teams. He holds an engineering degree from a French “Grande École” (Master equivalent) and an MBA from Queen’s University. Laurent is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Frank Ferrara

Frank Ferrara

Senior Advisor, Business & Innovation

Frank Ferrara serves as a Senior Advisor at Dealer-FX, helping the company with strategy and innovation. He was previously the Executive Vice President of Customer Satisfaction at Hyundai Motor America where his primary responsibilities were to lead Hyundai’s quality, engineering, call centers, dealer service operations and parts sales activities

Over his 30-year career at Hyundai he had responsibility for various aspects of the business including roles in marketing and corporate planning. In 2016 Frank was named by Automotive News as the automotive industry All-Star for Parts and Service.

Frank’s automotive career began with Toyota and included work in the aftermarket, as well as at the retail, distributor OEM levels. Frank is a magna cum laude graduate of Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York.
